Pure Reason Revolution - Coming Up To Consciousness (Standard CD Jewelcase)
Limited shipping areas
"Coming Up To Consciousness" is Pure Reason Revolution’s sixth studio album, and the third of its post-hiatus renaissance that began with 2020's "Eupnea" and continued in 2022's "Above Cirrus". Like those two predecessors, the new record is intensely personal. Its eight tracks are all between four and seven minutes long - concise by PRR standards - and they grapple with darkness of various kinds. While the band's distinctive style remains, melding prog and pop through dreamy moods, epic riffs and angelic harmonies, Courtney and Greg Jong also tried to go somewhere a bit different, drawing on influences like Talk Talk, Elliot Smith, The Smile and even Arctic Monkeys in addition to perennial favourites - especially Pink Floyd. Indeed, legendary session musician Guy Pratt, who has worked with Pink Floyd among myriad iconic acts, provided bass guitar on seven of the eight tracks, with Jon Sykes from The Pineapple Thief playing bass on one song. Bruce Soord, also of The Pineapple Thief, mixed the album in stereo & for the first time for PRR in Dolby Atmos & 5.1 Surround Sound. "Coming Up To Consciousness" will be available on Ltd CD+DVD Digipak (including 5.1 Surround Sound & High Resolution 24-bit stereo mixes), Standard CD Jewelcase, Digital Album (also in Dolby Atmos) as well as Limited Gatefold Colored ReVinyl LP. ReVinyl is a sustainable alternative where the vinyl record is produced using 100% recycled PVC granulate from material recovery (e.g. shredding of edge trimmings and other production returns).

Pre-order Neal Morse & The Resonance - "No Hill For A Climber": https://nealmorse.lnk.to/NoHillForACl... St. Date: Nov 8th., 2024. Throughout his long career, Neal Morse has often been a musical collaborator, usually with some of the greatest prog musicians across the world. This time, Morse has brought that collaborative spirit closer to home. It has its roots at the end of 2023, as Morse explains: “I started thinking about what I was going to do in 2024, and my wife suggested that I should think about doing something with the amazingly talented younger guys that we have here locally – like Chris Riley, Andre Madatian and Philip Martin. I knew just how good they were from playing with them at our Christmas concerts and other events.” These local musicians were supplemented by Joe Ganzelli (drums) and Johnny Bisaha, who performs much of the lead vocal work, as Morse explains: “While composing ‘No Hill For A Climber’, I was hearing a lot of higher range vocals –so I contacted Johnny Bisaha, who came over, listened to the music. loved it and started singing for me. And I immediately thought, ‘Oh man, he's the guy!’”. Neal comments: “’All the Rage’ was the second track that I recorded with the guys. I had written it with them in mind and we tracked it pretty quickly. We wanted more of a live feel so we did quite a bit of it without a click track, which became a bit of a challenge for me during the piano solo section! I am super happy with the way the song came out and I really feel like you can hear the energy of the band in the track!” The album will be available as Limited 2CD Digipak (incl. a second disc of instrumentals), Standard CD Jewelcase, Gatefold 2LP & as Digital Album. The track listing is as follows: 1. Eternity In Your Eyes 20:51 2. Thief 05:22 3. All The Rage 05:32 4. Ever Interceding 06:29 5.
